I always get a kick out of “SEO Experts” who advertise on Craigslist… If you’re a small business who is looking for a reputable SEO Company the last place you should be looking is on Craigslist – the reason they are there is because they can’t figure out how to get their own website ranked in most cases.

I thought it would be fun to browse a few “SEO” Craigslist ads and ran into this one from “Web Biz Creators.”

In one of their examples they use the keyword “Samoan Tattoo Designs” and have SamoanTattooDesigns.org circled with “Page 1 in 7 Days,” so naturally I went to Google and put in “Samoan Tattoo Designs,” and wasn’t able to find SamoanTattooDesigns.org within the top 3 pages of Google – which in my opinion is a clear scam.

The next obvious sign that popped out at me was all of the domain names circled were .org’s. It appears that this particular self titled “SEO” was trying to use exact match domain names for quick rankings, in particular .org’s and my guess is they’ve quickly figured out exact match domain name importance has quickly been discounted by most major search engines.

How about example 2? Article Marketing for SEO (another .org) a ridiculous long-tail keyword that generates less than 170 searches per month. According to the below article ArticleMarketingForSEO.org was on the 1st page in Google, in reality they are on page 2. Weak. Here’s the letter along with my comments.

Web Biz Creators.com is in my opinion a clear scam. First all of all, all of the domains listed in this article are registered to:

If you’re considering on hiring Web Biz Creators – don’t. They own the domain names, you don’t. They are using an exact match strategy which is ineffective in competitive markets as well as a lack or true SEO knowledge (just look at their website…).  In addition, they target long-tail keywords that generate little to no traffic. Scam? Borderline. A wise investment? Doubt it.

Scam, Scam, Scam – period.
